I posted a board about this a while back, and got no response. I am needing help with repairing my sappy5 voices on my computer. I want to be able to play the kitchensinc games again, and am not able to because the voices dont respond. I hope that someone will be able to help me this time. Also I do not know how to run the deluserlex file.
Hi there,
You should try reinstalling the Sappi program. You can find the files, as well as the repair files at Jim Kitchen's website:
www.kitchensinc.net
Hope this helps.

If you have installed one of the acapella voices, you will have to go to jaws-users.com and download what is it called, registery fix.exe or something like that, can't remember now. I'll find the link and post it here for the direct download of it. The program is simple, just click on the exe file, and click on run, then click on repair. No I think you have to click on check first. Can't remember.
The link with instructions and download is

Hello:
I have downloaded and run this utility. It did not, however, fix my SAPI issues. When I choose speech from the control panel, I receive the error:
"The requested task cannot be carried out because the necessary engine could not be created. Please select a different engine and/or a different audio device."
Once I choose ok, it does allow me to enter the dialog. The only speech engine that works is Microsoft Sam even though I have four other voices installed. If I attempt to choose one of these voices, selecting ok to exit the dialog produces:
"An exception occurred while trying to run "C:WINDOWSsystem32shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft
SharedSpeechsapi.cpl",Speech"
Anyone ever seen this error before and have any clue how to resolve it short of reinstalling Windows? I have also run the SAPI repair utilities found on the JimKitchen site. Any assistance is greatly appreciated as I am really sick of using Sam as the default voice for my Ipod Nano.
Thanks.
